Cotton works great for Trad.  Compounds shoot through it with carbons.  Been using it for years.  Just rake it up after the truck picks up the module.  Always some left to waste.

The path of least resistance is what makes men and rivers crooked.

That was what surprised me. The compound with the skinny carbons didn't shoot through it.

Pat, pretty funny....   :archer2:

What about moth treatment? Aren't there little critters out and about that eat wool?

Bud B. It would be an easy fix, or least I think it should be with mothballs.

Any other thoughts?

I am trying to think of a way to keep the wool dry without ruining the effectiveness and ease of arrow removal.

Just shoot them little buggers before they eat the target.

Anybody stuff theirs with old plastic bags from the grocery store?

Friend, you are funny! I don't know if anyone else caught that or not.

Plastic bags do a good job when stuffed tightly in a feed sack or burlap bag. Just keep adding bags as needed.

Steve Jr

I have been using the plastic bags for a couple of years now and they work just fine.

I just made a target filled to capacity with raw wool.

I'll report back on how it works for me.

Nice idea. I need to hit the shearing pens this spring and pick up all the scraps. Them shearers leave a lot lay!

How well does the new wool target work?

My arrows pull just using my thumb and forefinger.

Thanks for sharing this.

Warm when wet though I bet.
