I ran across and older gentleman that had a bunch of bows for sale. Apparently he is getting to old to shoot any of them. I got a chance to go out Saturday to have a look. Low and behold he had a Texas Recurve Comanche. On one of the limbs it says "For PBS 1994".  It has static tips. Does anyone know anything about this bow? It's marked 55 lb @ 29.5. I will try and post some pictures later today.

Sound like a bow donated to the PBS banquet in 1994. Nice find.

really cool little bows and the one you have comes with history.  Some had a bit of hand shock due to the heavy limb tips but I have not shot one in a long time.  The like a heavy arrow.

That bow was maid by a father son team from Texas by the last name of Byrd.  The bows were also sold through the old Screaming Eagle catalogue.  I use to want one myself.  You've found a gem!

The PBS Banquet in Cincinnati, OH is coming up in a few weeks.  See if the gentleman would be interested in donating the bow back to the PBS to auction off for the betterment of the Organization.  Just my .02

It's not marked with the length. Looks to be about 60". Wonder if they made them in different lengths? Does anyone know?

Bobby Urban

there is one offered for trade on Stickbow in the march swap and trade thread.  Just put up there today.  Just an fyi for those wanting one.

If I recall correctly they only came in 52" & 58".
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

This one must be 58". It's for sure not 52". This bow should be in a museum or something. It doesn't have a scratch on it. Does anyone know if they are FF compatible? Looks like this one has a decron string on it now.

TOEJAMMER

Dacron only if I remember correctly.
