There's nothing like...

There's nothing like sweet bent limbs
In the mornings early dawn
And the resounding thwack of the string
As it's down the valley drawn
There's nothing like the patch of red
Where the four point buck once stood
An indication of a well placed shot
Spilling out the bucks life blood
There's nothing like the feel of success
As the shakes begin to reside
While just twenty yards to the left
You see the place he died
There's nothing like the humbled hunter
Who thanks the buck for his gift
And nods to the Great Creator
For giving his spirit this lift
Now there's nothing like that journey home
That's just up around the bend
Where the hunter's family eagerly awaits
To celebrate the season's end....
