Hey all, first time post, but have trawled these forums for info many times.

I normally shoot alloy arrows but am looking to get myself a set of carbons.  I'm not familiar with carbons so would appreciate any advice on what spine would suit a 45# Liberty Contender at/with a draw length of 30".  Catch is I prefer to shoot a longer arrow at about 32" (smaller gap) which might be a problem with lower spined arrows.

I have looked at a few charts and calculators but get conflicting results.

Thanks.

aim small...release

cant go wrong with a 3555 gold tip traditional arrow. Can shoot those out of about anything.
Take a deep breath and pick a spot

The 3555 might be the right spine but it only goes to 30".  The 5575 comes in at 32" but maybe a little over spined?

I would think with the weight and your draw length a .500 spine carbon would work fine. But most .500 spine arrows are around 30" to 31" long.Longer carbon arrows,a Carbon Express Maxima 150 is 33" long. But these arrows are on the more expensive of arrows, usally around the $130 per dozen range for bare shafts. You may want to look at AD Trad Lites, they are a tapered carbon and are around 32" to 33" long.A very forgiving and adaptable arrow but you are still looking at the $110 range for a dozen bare shafts. Now GT 35/55 blems are a lot cheaper but usally around 30" long.I think non-blem GT 35/55 area closer to 32" but not sure.

Another arrow you might look ar are Carbon Express Heritage 150,I think they are 32" long.

As far as I know my bow shop guy got me shooting 4 flech 5 1/2 shield feathers on 32 inch 3555 goldtip traditionals 32 inch long. Carbons out of my 45# recurve. started at 30 inch length with a 29 inch draw he told me that goldtip started making 3555 back in 32 inch length again and the longer shaft gave better flight and groups and it did now on my 55 # long bow I shoot 5575 at 30 inch long .I don't think they make the 5575 in 32 length
