I just got a nice green Kodiak Hunter in trade & have been shooting it. It's the bow I started with years ago & I finally got another. The one I started with wasn't a green one, but this one is pretty, shoots well, & is in the poundage I really like, it's 52lbs, 60".
 Anyone else who shoots one, I'd like to hear about them.

I've got a greenie 56# prefer this grip by far to any other bear model I've had my hands on I've been not so seriously looking for a '71 model year (my birth year) I know there are a lot of all natural wood riser purists out there but I like the greenies. Especially the ones that didn't take all the dye and do have some wood showing. Shoot the guts out of it they're great.

I have a 50# 1972/73 green Futurewood KH.  Good, rugged bows.

For some reason I notice a LOT of KHs are used for bowfishing.

I have had several over the years, still have a 58" 1967 KH 43# @ 28". Great bow that I still take out into woods during hunting season now and then!

I just got rid of a 69 because the grip was just to high for me. It was a great looking bow and shot well. The grips on the green models look lower to me in the pics I've seen of them? Is this true?

Yep, I have a '67 that I take out every once in awhile myself.  It's a tack driver, but I don't care for such a high wrist grip

I just got back into archery after a long hiatus due to shoulder surgeries (both shoulders). I was at a garage sale this fall and there was a KH from 1968 on the table. I grabbed it up and have been having a ball with it. Shoots hard with 2016's and 125 heads. All I have to do is get used to the 47# and find my form again. The grip is real hard to get used to but Ill give it a year.

I've had two. Late 60's for both. Great bows. Still have one, my Uncles. The same bow he had when he got me started hunting in' '75.

I have a 60" 45@28 I piked up at a garage sale for $25.  Shoots great and I took my first der with it this past fall.

I have a '69 KH, 43# @28" but with my 29 1/4" DL I'm drawing about 46#.  I really like the high grip and shoot it nearly every day.  It's my "go to" bow.

The one I started with was a 48# bow, but not a greenie. We all thought that was plenty of weight back then.

If it was then it'd still be now!      

Enjoy that bow, I think they are great.
It's good to know some still think highly of them, I think they are a easy shooting bow.

A few years ago I saw a young man in collage selling his K hunter for a resonable price on another forum.I told him I would buy it and if he graduated from collage I would give his bow back to him.It was a 71 or 72 and shoots fine but I have never heard from him again.Waiting a while longer and then pass it to someone in this forum that needs a bow.I love Bear bows.Kip

I think the Hunter is a better bow than it gets credit for, but then the price would go up????

I absolutely love the high grip of the 67, 68 KH's. My only wish is that they were 64"!
I don't even have to close my hand at all when shooting one, bow hand totally relaxed, no torque, they are great.

Not the best pic of the bow, but I had this early 70's Kodiak Hunter (55#,), but sold it a year or so ago to get a new bow. Great bow though. You can see the natural wood riser.

 

I have three of the green ones and love them. I've used a 77 model some over the last couple of seasons. There is nothing lacking in them and they just have a "Cool factor" about them.

Great shooters and the greenies are almost indestructible.

I've got a mid 70's 45# greenie and a '69 which is 40#.They both pull about 6 pounds more at my draw and the '69 is going to accompany me on an elk hunt in Sept.
