Irv and I hosted several Midwestern trad hunters this past weekend. Arrows flew, coolers were filled, fun was had by all! More to come....

Just waiting on some pics to come in. Irv, Dan,  and Gerry are still out bowfishing.

Irv and I were joined this past weekend by Matt Meachum(Overspined), Bill Kissner, Dan Stillwell(BigD), and Gerry Gwaltney.

We were getting lost of trail cam pics at all of the feeder sites so we were pretty confident the guys would do well.

I had to teach Friday and would come up late afternoon. Irv got them settled into their stands early that morning. Right off the bat, Gerry shoots a nice meat boar at the East Grove stand. He made a great hit and it didn't go far(pics to come). Dan heard a couple boars fighting in the Jungle but they never came in.

Irv had Bill Kissner at the Pines stand. He had a couple little ones come in that morning but passed.
He got the guys on stand early that afternoon.
We had been seeing pigs on trail camera at the Pines every day at 3 pm. At 3:08, Bill texts Irv with some news.......

You're Lambing this up, aren't you?

Ha Ha, a little, but mostly waiting on pics.
(I can't help it, I'm Greek, we invented drama:)

A hunt like that's on my bucket list.

Later in the hunt, Dan Stillwell(BigD) got to see how a Woodsman and 50# bow would perform on a thick shield!...

Ok, finally on a computer that lets me access Photobucket. Bill Kissner and the other guys headed early to the stands Friday afternoon, good thing too, because hogs were up and moving already.
As I said earlier, Irv had been seeing trail camera pics of a hog visiting the Pines feeder at 3 pm everyday. At 3:08 he gets a text from Bill saying that he shot a boar. Irv asks him to sit tight and try and shoot another. Two hours later another group of pigs comes in. The only problem is Irv is walking over at the agreed upon time to go track Bill's hog! Bill takes aim as Irv approaches and shoots a bit high hitting the pig above the vitals but missing the spine. I expect to see that hog again on the trail cameras.

Here is Bill's boar. (The viewpoint makes it look smaller than it is. It was about 50 lbs or so)

Bill caped this pig and is having it tanned. It should make a great rug with that unique coat.
