Way to much snow here, went out today on snowshoes and put my pole in right to the grip. It will be a few weeks at least.

The family and I were heading back home from KC at dusk the other night and we saw a couple herds of deer just north of the city...  bunches of bucks with antlers still on.... I mean alot of them!  I have never seen so many bucks in groups like that around here.  Anyway, with that many still sporting their headgear, I think that I will wait a couple more weeks....

With Coach Brad finding his, I might have to sneak out this week!

Congrats!

I can;t figure the times they drop...it varies every year...love looking...each one regardless of size is a treasure...good exercise too

kill shot

I found a shed the day after gun deer season ended when my daughter and I were rabbit hunting. A week later I killed a deer with my recurve that had what looked like tumers on his legs. The DNR said the deer probably got hit by a vehical and his wounds caused him to drop his antlers early. I never found a shed until then. It was a shame to find one under this circumstance.

Got out yesterday and managed to find a few keepers and some seedlings. Nothing big, but there's plenty of country to cover when the snow melts.

One of the seedlings...

Fresh 3 pt that has a little duck head on one of the tines...

One from last year that a squirrel found...

Another 3pt from last year...

Finished the day with a fresh 3pt...

Found this four point side a couple of weeks ago. It was very fresh. We've got tons of snow here in Wisconsin but should see that diminish in the next couple of weeks. (sorry no field photo...the pic turned out very dark)

Took Mom to the cemetery to take the Christmas wreath off Pop's stone, but there was a funeral going on so we took the loop through the older section and...

Here is one that measures 2 1/2 inches. Better mass too... Of course it is a whitetail though, so that should disqualify it.  :)

Been awhile.  I have one group of pics of this buck from August.  Now I need to find his 4 point, left side.  Cameras can be misleading as this deer was hardly on my radar as far as size goes.  The ones I'm looking for appear much bigger in a picture.  Rough scored around 70".  Pretty good for a state most people can't find on a map.

We've still got well over 2' of snow where I'm at but have still managed to snag a few. Hopefully I'll find some more come spring!

Heres one that came off the last week of December. I saw this buck the day before with all his headgear then I found this the next day. Also saw an old buck with knarly short spikes. Then a couple days later he was spikeless. I would love to find those spikes, there was a guard point coming off the burr toward his right eye.

Great job.  I have looked a lot lately but no luck.  There is a saying in East Texas that the squirrels chew the antlers off the bucks head before he can drop them.  I'm beginning to believe it.

wow how do you guy's find all these??!! I just found my first shed ( a large whitetail 8 pointer) by accident three days ago. They were laying side by side next to a tree.
