Did Easton discontinue the XX78 Super Slams for 2014?

The Easton archery site is not showing any.

I couldn't find them on the Easton site and wanted to ask if anyone here has any info.

I don't know,but when stopped making the 2219 on XX78 I quit buying aluminum.

For trad, is xx78 that much better than xx75?

I like both.
I own more XX78's but I believe they are more brittle than a XX75.

This is just my opinion.

Easton XX78 just have a slightly higher tensile strength,I believe the XX78 have a 100,000 and XX75 have a 95,000 to 96,000.All XX78 use a uni-bushing and most of the XX75 do now.If you like glue-on nocks the Easton Legacy still have a swaged nock end.I do think any one is better then the other for trad,both are good shafts.

XX78's are tougher, have higher tensile strength. The only problem I had with them was the finish. Bohning paints would chip of, never a problem with any other Easton shaft. I guess wraps would solve that problem but I don't like wraps.

First was the demise of the much beloved autumn orange, so i switched to xx78's.  Then they quit producing them in 2016. After that I went to wood shafts.

The XX78s are no longer on the website and Chuck Adams no longer appears on their pro staff page so... I'm thinking they dropped them.

That would be unbelievable!

I talked with Easton Archery today.
The customer service rep said the XX78 Super Slams are discontinued.
He did say they had enough in stock to last about two years.
I believe he also said they were still going to produce the XX78 in the Eclipse target arrow.

Look out there on the horizon....is that the end of the aluminum arrow?  Hope not, but makes me wonder.

That's too bad if Easton discontinued XX78's.  They are a much better shaft then the XX75's.  

I suppose since aluminum in general isn't in style only a few diehards and those looking for a cheaper option still buy them.   That makes a premium shaft like the XX78 almost impossible to sell.  Looks like I need to start buying up as much as I can.

Also, I notice that their website isn't as "user friendly" to me.  Many of the charts (selection and specs) are no longer available.  Or at least I can't find them.

I like the new arrow specs layoutway better.
