Lets see your favorite tool or worker bows.
I just got done touching up nicks and dings on my 4 main bows and replaced the grips on 3 of them.
The top 2 are reynolds bows that i use for bowfishing. both are over 15 years old and used very hard. bounced around in airboats, lost over board once for 3 hours until i found it, and spent most of thier lives covered in fish guts and blood and bug spray.
The bottom 2 are robertsons that are both over 10 years old and i rotate each year witch is my main bow for the season.
All 4 bows are 63# at 26" and 62" long. they are basically all identical. They are all work bows and hunt in all weather conditions and all terrains. have spent nights hanging in a tree outside tents in all night rains and also sub zero temps. been dropped from tree stands, used as hooks to pull branches down, etc. I love them, and use them hard.
It just amazes me the crap a longbow can take and still keep going...knock on wood, they will last me the rest of my hunting days, or until i need to drop in draw weight.

i dont have any pictures of at the moment but my favorite tool bow (because its the only one i own) is my samick sage. Its been through scorching desert temps above 110 to temps well below zero and has performed flawlessly. its also been dunked in water to retrieve squirrels that have fallen in the river (along with arrows      ) to being covered in swamp muck chasing snakes and bull frogs. i love that bow and it always performs and shoots just as good as any bow out there.   :saywhat:

Recent convert and still looking for my first trad kill, but here's the only one I've hunted with yet.  Early 60s Red Wing Hunter, 53@28.  The camo sleeves were on it when I got it.  Not much on camo usually, but it has a glossy finish so I leave them on to cut down on glare when I hunt.

And here's my newest tool bow.  A late 60s Ben Pearson Hunter that I got from a coworker a few weeks back.  It's 42@28 and I got it hoping to get my wife to hang up her compound.  But I messed up and shot it.  This little bow is sweet and hits way harder than I expected.  It's gonna definitely see some woods time next season, whether she shoots it or not.

Glad you give us the skinny on what those bows been through. I always pucker up a bit dinging one of my spendy bows. On questionable outings I use my ML10 Martin, but boy is that thing miserable to use.

Matt,
Great taste in bows.

Almost all my bows are tool bows.  I use them to whack down multifloral rose bushes, they have been dropped, fallen on (klutz), thrown, used to retrieve and so forth.

The only few bows I don't treat super rough are some of my older bear Bows.

I see bows as tools, they should be used as such.

All my bows are Tool/working bows and are bought for that purpose regardless of how pretty or $$ they cost. I just take good care of my tools, use them but dont baby'em.

Stumpkiller

Hmmm.  All my bows are expected to be tools and "worker" bows.  No one rides the rack that hasn't been deer and small game hunting as well as roving and stumping.

This is my 1966 Browning Explorer.  Had it out at a 3D and stump shoot last weekend.

A few scratches are fixed with a buffing of BriWax.  Paying $80 to $150 for old bows is pretty liberating on how you enjoy them.

A bow that's not shot is like a pretty nun.

I too treat every bow as a tool and buy them for that purpose. I should of worded the title better. I wanted to see pics of the bows that have memories in the field and have "been there, done that" with you. the bows that are like old friends with history in the woods with you.
I only have 6 bows. and shoot them all pretty often but the 4 shown above are pretty special becasue of the history we have together.
Every nick, ding, and shot has a story behind it.
When i was doing the touch ups on them i was thinking back to all the things they have been with me on. Felt good and brought back lots of memories.
So often i grab my bow and go. it was pretty cool to spend an hour on each thinking back the whole time.
There are tons of people on here with some beautiful bows that they just bought. Those are awesome. and no doubt over time those new bows will make memories. I would like to hear about and see the ones that have some hard earned, precious miles on them.

I can't say that I dont baby any of my bows that's especially nice looking, but i do have one bow i picked up especially to serve as my "tool bow". It's a pittsley predator hunter model with the charcoal actionwood riser and black limbs. . . it's solid, isn't made from gorgeous veneers or rare woods so i dont mind if it gets scratched. . . and it SCREAMS an arrow right where i'm looking. after throwing on a matching thunderhorn lynx bolt on quiver. . . it even looks pretty awesome.
