Hey Folks,
I was wondering if Under Armour is as good as they say, or if a lot of it is hype? You better off just layering up or does The UR allow less bulk?
Thanks,
Charlie

If you get the right stuff, yes it does work. It allows you to have alot less bulk which as bow hunters we all know is great. I hunt here in michigan and i can get away with a tight fitting cold gear shirt and then a looser fitted over that then my hunti.g suit which is not super thick its the dream season early season by scent blocker And thats a early november hunt.

Yes, is good, but i think Merino wool is by far superior as first layer. If you don't want wool, is not a bad option but probably you will find cheaper brands that works as well as UA and cheaper.

I have been using UA for running and is not bad, for sure.

I found the UA was not good if you are just sitting in the cold  but pretty good if you where moving all day. And it holds stink unlike wool.

No bulky, check the options from brands as Kuiu or Firstlite, is not cheap but it works very, very well, i love it.

I've been wearing my KUIU merino wool base layer almost all the time this winter and love it.  Keeps me toasty without the stink.  I've had UA Cold Gear and didn't care for the tight fitting stuff I had.  Felt like the hair on your arms and legs was matted into knots by the end of the day - maybe the looser fitting stuff would have been better?

I wish I would have tried merino wool first, I would have saved myself a lot of money and frustration.  I now have mid weight pieces, tops and bottoms, from Smart Wool and Icebreaker and would recommend either company.  I am very comfortable doing a variety of activities in a wide range of temperatures.  It is great stuff.

I am a big fan of minus33 merino wool base layers.  I have been wearing them quite a bit with the weather we have been having.  Great stuff and I don't know how long you have to wear it before it stinks, but I haven't figured it out yet.   Great stuff.
