buddy brought a friend over today to discuss trad gear, he has deer hide silencers on his longbows. 1/2" wide by 8", wrapped just like muskrat. though we didnt shoot them, still down with the flu, he swears they dampen vibration more and cut down the twang more as well. anyone else do this, or even tried it?

Over&Under

Never tried that...but sounds like its worth a try.  Waterproof, and don't pick up burrs

Tater

I've used Muskrat,Beaver,Fox,Bear,& Coyote, I imagine Deer would work fine especially the softer under belly. The regular hair is pretty coarse.
