Anyone tell us why black glass is faster/fastest?

I asked Craig at HHA about that one time. He told me that he had found no performance difference in the two. Suggested that it might be an "old wives tale".

Because it doesn't show streaks like clear.  :dunno:

I love Macassar Ebony but Cocobolo is my second favorite. I don't have many black or brown glass backed or faced limbs. I have a green glass Grayling (bubinga riser) and a carbon weave pattern that is black on an ILF.

Here's a picture of a Rosewood Diamondwood and Ebony Schafer. The limb veneers are myrtle though. I think a bow with Coco and Macassar Ebony would be beautiful.

I just love beautiful wood too much too not go with exotic veneers on the limbs.

I do have a Sasquatch BW Ebony with black veneered limb faces and ebony backs. I'll hunt up a picture.

Now Roy....if you ever decide to get rid of that one....I'll be ready!!!!

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

I have always disliked black because it sticks out like a sore thumb in the woods. My next 58" limbs for my TallTines will be brown glass...I like the simple look.

Is there really a difference in performance?

I like both but the old green glass has a really cool look that I think is classy
