I was told about a deer that was shot last year.  They found part of a blade in the ham. They were very relieved to have found it. what they found next changed how i feel about carbon arrows. Apparently, the deer had been hit on the hip bone, both the broadhead and the arrow shattered. There were carbon spikes imbedded in the muscle. If it would not have pricked him the finger, he would have missed it and fed it to his family.

Man! that was a close call. Glad it worked out well.

For several years I shot Bear Razorheads with bleeder blades.  Even with complete pass thrus, those bleeder blades never came out with the arrow.  Always had to find the pieces to avoid eating razorblades.  There's better options for sure.

This makes cracking a tooth on bird shot seem pretty tame.  I guess we all just became more careful meat inspector's.

Just because you are passionate about something, doesn't mean you don't suck at it.

I also used Bear Razorheads for years, but never with the bleeders for just that reason. The first time I saw a mechanical broadhead, I said to myself "that just doesn't look like a good idea" now I know why. I'm pretty sure the blade fragmented on bone and some lodged in the off-side shoulder.

I hope you didn't swallow the little screws before noticing the blades.
