Has anyone hunted whitetails using a ground blind that is the portable type that you stake in the ground and roll up when you are finished. Does it work in open areas and any recommendations. Some areas that I hunt don't have the trees in the right spot. Also what seat would work with this arrangement.

I'm curious to see responses on this also. It's that time of year when , Rural King, Dick's Sporting Goods and others have 50% off many of their blinds and stands. I hope we get some opinions of these affordable blinds.
Thanks to all who give their experiences with blinds.

It's priceless!

They work great but you have to give them time to get used to them. If you try to hunt it the day you sit it up you might as well stand outside of it and do jumping jacks.

X 2, I like to wear my "blind" and it works great, have been within 15 ft of a Tom Turkey and have yanked a hair out of a yearling bucks tail!!

I use a $15 camo net with 2 or 3 clamps hooked on limbs along with a small tripod seat.
As far as open area , I hunt public land so you cant leave anything set up. I don't own one nor have I used one. But those ghost blinds looks like they would be good for an open area situation or any for that matter.

As far as seats go a Huntmor 360 is hard to beat.
