Guru

Terry,
I'd double check with the doc about doing anything with the upper body for the next few weeks. Granted, I had different surgery, but after my rotator cuff surgery, the doc didn't even want me walking on a treadmill for 6-8 weeks because he didn't want any side to side arm motion other than walking across the room side to side arm motion.

Carcajou

Now be careful, I had a good friend who went that route following shoulder surgery,,,he pulled both his front teeth out with his Great Northern Bushbow!   :scared:

One of the guys at the club had one arm and shot with a home made leather strap attached to his string.  Guy was a heck of a shot.  I don't know how many deer he has killed shooting that way.

Mudd

Terry cut out a leather piece the shape of a tadpole(sorta) then cut a slit in the head so you can pull the tail through it.

Wrap it around your string then put the tail threw the head and pull it tight on your string.

Do not use you front teeth. Start with a very light wt bow until you get the feel for it.

Somewhere in the archives there should be a video of me showing "How-to" with one.

Hang in there my friend....healing will come.

When you get it all figured out, Terry, can you include this method in your "form clock"?   ;)

Terry,
This video was produced by the host of KY Afield. He lost use of his right arm in a motorcycle accident.

This video is used by coaches of NASP kids who have only one arm to use.

Roy, I edited the link out because it's a non trad bow in the vid.  It's the same video that I sent Terry earlier today thru email though so he's got it.....Thanx

Terry,

Be careful with this.  Don't compound your problems and have neck problems due to drawing with your teeth.  Relax and enjoy the down time.

Killdeer

You have any wool around? You could learn to crochet while you heal up.

I missed the part about what injury/operation you have but if you have one good arm I'd rather see you do a foot sling sitting on the ground and shooting with the good hand.

My friends and I do a lot of goofing around trick shooting when out stump shooting - Kind of like a game of Horse.  We often do the foot on the riser one hand shots and you can actually get pretty dialed in with a little practice.  I would think from a treestand it could be rather effective if you were in a situation that required it.  Just another degree of difficulty I say - and that is kind of what we enjoy anyway.  Have at it.
