I am planning on going down to hunt turkeys in the spring.
I have hunted down in Green swamp heard birds ,but no shots. I am planning on hunting there again ,but would like to know of other places to try. Does anyone have any advise for DIY hunt? also have scouted another location(wma) but can't recall the name.

Try the creek bottoms at Bull Creek WMA.
This is what an Osceola turkey sounds like when he is coming to you...

Want to hear it again?

Dond  I heard that before ...
Bull creek  thanks for the tip .
Does it receive much pressure?
looks swampy.
I have been looking at the wma's map and can't remember a spot that I saw birds and survived a tornado.

Johnny, they cant be any quieter than your south central or south eastern PA birds.   Took 3 years to literally see one let alone shoot one on state land!   Heard more gobbling this year than the previous two years combined but only managed to see one bird in the woods and he's done gone the dinner table route.

I hunted Greenswamp East for many yrs. and it does have a lot of turkeys. So does Richloam and Upper Hillsborough.

They are all fairly close together..have to go a little farther South for Upper Hillborough and it used to only be open a couple days during the week..first come first serve with it.

Three Lakes can be good also if it's not full of water. None of these were quota except Richloam the first 9 days I think.

Johnnylongbow

Yea not easy for sure, like they say I'd rather be lucky...
Thanks Hoyt greenswamp is quta first two days. I have seen birds at the check station @ Richloam. three lakes  might be where I was and was turned on to a good area by a state worker there, but the sooner the better with any public land.  Does anyone know of area's in the south zone ,I will be there on the 12th of march would like to also get a poke at some hog's.

Bull Creek is pressured but doable. First weekend is quota I believe. Lots of birds in the area.
