Can anyone tell me what the recommended brace height is on a bear grizzly?  Guy I bought it off of thought it was a late 60's/earley 70's model.  AMO is 56" and serial number is 9R17404.  Thanks for the help!

great bows.  Congrats!

Start at 8" and adjust up/down from there.  Some guys do well with under 8", I typically have all my Grizzly's right at 8" or a hair under.

Thanks!  Can you tell the year by the serial number?

yes.  56" Grizzly was made for 3 years 1968-1970

1968 starts with an 8
1969 starts with a 9

1970 starts with a K and will have a light maple lam in the riser.

Mine is an early 70's 58". It settled down much better once I got to 8". Mine's at 8-1/8 at the moment

Haven't strung one of the 56" Grizzlies up latlely but it seems like they brace between 8"-9". There's a bit of difference in the limb and handle configuration between those and the 58" models.
