Got a Woodman's Pal for Christmas, can't wait to get out and play with it. Anyone else here have one? What do you use them for?

Great gift! The Woodmans Pal is one of the handiest tools a backwoods fellow can own. Mine is always in my truck. I use it constantly....building blinds, clearing trails, clearing shooting lanes, chopping kindling...

Like Roger said. Mine is always in the truck and is used constantly. I've had mine for over 15 years. I've given one to both of my sons.

Nice Christmas present!  I forgot about these tools, so thanks for posting. I just read your review again, Roger, and talked myself into ordering one.  They are 20% off with free shipping until the end of the year.

I also take mine to Canada bear hunting...  makes it alot easier getting them out by cutting a trail vs. trying to follow a trail out...

have fun!

You  can chop or pull it to you to cut. Got one back in the 70's. They were standard equipment in an emergency kit on some vehicles when I was in the Navy.We had the misfortune (or good fortune, depends on how you look at it) to salvage some vehicles when I was stationed at Roosevelt Rds in PR. The guy in charge said to keep what you want because the vehicles and their equipage were going to be destroyed. Still have mine and use it at times.

Nice gift! All I got was some body wash & deodorant (both scented and hunting, unscented)! You think somebody's trying to tell me something?

I like the looks of those things...maybe I should look into getting one for myself...  :dunno:

I have looked at these for years!  Maybe this is the year I pull the trigger and get one.  They look like a great tool along side the chainsaw for managing my pine forest.
