Whose shooting these.? I just ordered a half dozen 400's to try. I was going to try axis traditionals, but the price and HIT inserts kept me away. What are your thoughts on them, and what are you shooting them out of? Are they tough? Never shot a skinny carbon. Thanks, Matt

Seth Stevens

I have some 400's I've been shooting. They are shooting very well. I have footed both ends. With that, they are bomb proof.

Mine are 30.5". I'm using the 75gr insert and 175gr points. With the footing, they are just about 600gr.

I'm shooting them out of my Toelke Whip at 56# and 29.5" of draw.

Been shooting them from day one. Excellent arrow. I shot them into everything including a cinder block wall and they held up. I found that by cutting my .500 shafts at 29" with the 50 grain brass insert and 175 grain point they fly out of my longbows and recurves in the range of 45-50#. This was after some bare shaft testing. I liked them so much that I bought a few dozen to keep me going.

I am shooting some 400 spine cut to 29.5" with 175 gr point 75 gr insert out of my 54# JD Berry Northstar. They come in at 568 grain, which is a touch heavier than I like so I'm gonna tune up some .500 to try.

I like the shafts alot, the wood grain finish does wear off pretty easy when shooting Into a bag target though, but they are very durable shafts

They are great.  Only difference vs axis trads is slightly larger diameter and insignificant couple tenths gpi and standard insert.  My new go-to.

I started shooting them about a month ago and so far I've been very impressed with them. I've shot them into some pretty solid trees and haven't broke one yet

They are essentially the old MFX's which just seem to shoot better for me than the larger dia shafts- love em.

What size footings do you use? I use the 500 spined ones and I don't believe there's a difference in diameter

I'm shooting a 59# Whippenstick at my 30 inch draw. 31 inch arrow. I would like to use the 50 grain adapter and 200 grain point. 400 or 340? Thanks.   BILL

Seth Stevens

I would have to say 340's.

Bullfrog I would go with 340's with a 200 grain point and 50 grain insert
