Any  suggestions on good longbows

Bazooka Joe

Dave Dwyer excellent old style and reflex deflex style.  I've owned some and they are excellent.

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

All longbow makers found on this site are of high quality and noteworthy.

Warning! Your question as posted can lead to a dwindling bank account and further confusion.  Waters warm, just go for it...

Some bowyers offer a test drive program also.

Holm made bows are great shooters. I have an osprey. It draws smooth out to 30 inches. I have only shot one goshawk but it was real nice as well.

Check out our take down Cyclone Longbows, We get nothing but the best of reviews with our reflex deflex design and no hand shock in the riser.  We make these longbows in lengths of 62" and 64" with a beautiful selection of exotic woods.

I have a Goshawk and a Osprey by Chad Holm. 2 of my best shooting bows and I have a bunch of different stuff. I also have 2 of Chad's recurves one of which is my go to hunting bow. Chad is a fantastic bowyer and great guy to deal with. Can't go wrong with a Holm-Made bow!! He is also a sponsor  here.

I have one of his Osprey bows and it is very nice  and well built . Would think the Goshawk would be just as nice .

Not at all difficult to avoid buying too many longbows...just buy more recurves...I find that keeps my longbow numbers right around the half dozen mark...if you do not count the two I have ordered

What is y'all's opinion on a whippin stick longbow?

My Sarrels Blueridge is my go-to bow. Take a look at Sarrels Archery. Bob is a sponsor and is in TX too.

I have 5 Morrison Shawnees and 2 Morrison ILF's. Hard to beat a Morrison!

Steelhead

Holm Made are excellant bows.
The Whippenstick you mentioned are also excellant.

Chad makes a nice longbow. I have shot them and they are good performers.

I prefer a more d shape bow when strung but some r/d is fine.  I have a Dwyer original in 66 inches. I like it very much, very smooth...a 68 will be even smoother and quieter...used to have a 68 inch original....but I though it was too long...ha

Now there is an endorsement coming from Javaman...one of the top bowyers around.  Not JMHO this time...tippit

Chad's bows are some of the best 'bang for the buck' out there.  Impeccable craftsmanship and real zingers.
