I had a pair of high end meindles for two seasons and honestly I loved them for the first couple months then they started leaking and after the end of the second year they were retired as work boots.  but after that I bought the highest end lowa and same thing as far as waterproofing,  the lowas structure and sole were a bit better but they should be for the buck.  I even use revivex before every hunt. and still cant keep my feet dry.  so my opinion. for fifty bucks and lightly used you probably couldn't do any better. and I hope many years of use for you.

Yeah, you could do a whole lot worse for $50, but probably not any better.

Sam McMichael

Maybe. If they have been broken in and have molded to somebody else's feet, probably not. I have taken a couple pair of slightly used boots that my son outgrew, and they just did not fit me well even though they were my size.

They really were a little more boot than I like.  Very tough but stiff and uncomfortable.  Everybody's feet are different as is the terrain being hunted so you will never get total agreement on boots.

Awesome boots. I wore mine for 12 days in Alaska, feet were never cold or wet.

Thanks for all the feedback guys - they just arrived in the mail today.  Been wearing them for a few hours so far and the feel great.  Going to give them a real work out this weekend to see how they treat my feet.
So now that I have them,  what do you all treat them with to extend their life and keep them as waterproof as possible?  Mink oil, snow seal....??

I bought their own brand of waterproofing. I'm pretty sure you can't use anything with silicone. Go on their website and see what they recommend, but a good product is a bees wax paste, no silicone.

I have tried them on as I have heard good things from friends (especially the pre Cabelas boots).

Unfortunately they don't make boots for average size fellas like me...oh well, back to Russel.

I just paid $200 at cabelas for a pair and can say they are VERY comfy (hard to fit wide feet) lots of room and thinking of buying a 2nd pair (to hold on to  )The Most comfortable foot wear I own !!!  I agree!
As we get older our bow weight goes down and our body weight goes up, One of Lifes little jokes.
