Need some input on arrow wraps vs bare shaft fletching. Seems to me if you have one bad feather with wraps you have to replace the whole wrap. Do not see any advantage other than easy off easy on.

I prefer the extra visibility of having a wrap on the arrow. When re-fletching is required, it makes it easier to do a neat job.

For my arrow making style, the wraps make a good clean, solid basis for attaching feathers and add color as well.  I use them on wood as well as carbon shafts(I don't do aluminum much any more).

My system works for me, the wraps, the glue etc are known to be compatible (by me) and ... there you go.

Yup, you usually need to replace the whole thing, but it is very easy and neat to do just that.

That's the reason I don't use wraps, but paint my crowning and cresting.

If you did have one bad feather and u wanted to refletch that one how would you get your jig to line back up perfectly?  I use wraps I like the look they give my arrows,  they peal off easily as well.

I use a bitzenburger jig.  Never had any problem lining up the shaft for one feather.  I also use wraps, but like shooting and hunting more that arrow building, so i use the quick sticker style wraps.

I use the wraps on carbons, with fletching tape. I can usually peel one feather off and replace it with my blitzenburger. The glue bumps (if you use it)on the front and back of the feather take a little care removing, but unless your entering a pretty arrow contest, it does not seem to affect much. I don't use wraps on aluminum.

More color for visibility.  I put hot pink and chartreuse wraps on my arrows and they really improve the visibility.

Wraps are strictly cosmetic.

I have been fletching arrows for 40 years and can't tell you how many feathers I put on aluminums with no dips or wraps.  Doing some right now for a couple of kids.  I clean the shaft, wipe down and use Scotch super strength glue.

I have used many wraps from One Stringer for special event shoots.  Ordered up 2 dozen for a memorial shoot for my dad last year and they did an outstanding job.  I force myself to be really careful when fletching over wraps as to not make any mistakes.

Don't forget that wraps are extra weight.  I found once that a wrap was all I needed for final tune on a shaft that was showing just a little weak.  I love them!  I even use clear ones on my turkey arrows (not bright colored) solely because it makes removing fletching so much easier on carbons.

I use clear wraps and super glue for feathers. When you need to replace feathers just use a heat gun and take the wrap and all off. I bought a roll of clear adhesive shelf liner (contact paper)  and it will last my lifetime for about 5 bucks.

I like wraps the glue (any glue I tried ) seems to stick better. I mostly use carbons. I also just replace one fletch if that's all that's damaged. I really do not care that they look pretty after they are shot a few times. I do not wrap my woods but they are just used for my self bow and not for varmint hunting. Too much work in them.

I always use wraps on my carbon arrows.Glue sticks better and ease of redoing later.Wraps are not that expensive,especially solid color wraps.I would rather spend the few extra cents for a wrap then risk causing damage to my carbon arrow shaft scraping off old fletching.

This and I have never had problems lining up feathers on my bitzen jigs

I have nicked up too many carbon shafts while trying to clean off the old fletching so, I always use wraps (usually just white).  I will not use a questionable carbon arrow.

I prefer wraps for a few reason:

(1) the feathers seem to stick to them better
(2) they are easier to spot an arrow after being shot
(3) they look cool!

The downside would be if you had to replace a feather typically you need to re-do the whole thing.  But I've found I would normally do that anyhow.  

I also fletch with a bitzenburger jig and it works great.

Reflective wraps are harder to remove than the regular ones as well.  I always use wraps and the double dogs from Onestringer.

I use wraps on my carbons for a couple of reasons. the make the arrow easier to find. I do a lot of target shooting wraps make it easier to re-fletch or fix.
