Palmer or Bob Lee recurve.  With your long draw, get a 64" model.

For a recurve, I would vote or Fedora.  Smooth, quiet and shoots where you are looking.

If you liked the Hoyt Buffalo, you might take a look at the DAS recurves.  They come highly recommended.

I like my Dorado too, but I had an issue that it took Hoyt quite a while to fix.

Your price range would get you a base model Tall Tines, awesome bows and not a long wait time.  The whole package in my opinion.

For that price range I would take a look at the RER Vital. Basic model starts at $650,-. It is a three pce static tip recurve design. The Vital is an incredible good shooting bow. Very fast, stable, forgiven dead silent and no handshock or vibrations. High level of craftmanship and good people to deal with. The three pce design also gives you the possibility to change limbs.
If you are willing to spend a little bit more, you get the fancy veneers and other options.

You all helped a ton...just pulled the trigger on a used wes Wallace mentor...thanks for all the input. Saved a bunch over new so maybe a second bow in the near future.

Lots of good options already suggested, and you're right, you are going to drive yourself nuts looking at all the options.

Definately keep the RER's on your short list.  I love the ones that I have.  Kevin (the bowyer) has a long draw himself and his bows are some of the smoothest drawing of all my bows for us long armed guys.  I'd also seriously look at the Tall Tines.  I was very impressed with his recurves that I have shot.

If you can wait a couple of months set aside the last weekend in January and head to Kalamazoo Michigan.  You can try out bows to your hearts content at that show and that is the best way to pick out a new bow.

I'm with pamike, keep your eye on the classifieds.  You can get almost any bow used in your price range.  For new bows, your price range eliminates most of the "premier" customs.  Plenty of good new bows available for less than $700 but it sounds like you are looking for something a little special.

My favorite recurves are Blacktail, Schafer Silvertip, Dale Dye, Robertson, and Wes Wallace but there are several I have not tried.  Lots of nice bows out there, the ones I listed I have either bought used and kept or bought used, kept, and then ordered another new one built to my specs.

As has been mentioned above.  I just bought a stalker coyote and both sets of limbs are incredible.  His test drive program can't be beat.  Give him a call and ask about the test drive program.  Your out little money and will know for certain if the bow is right for you  South is great to deal with.  I ordered mine before my week was up with the test drive bow.
