Ok here goes. There are so many bows to choose from I would love some ideas. I would love to stay around 700 but could spend more preferably less. I have a samick sage...good start but ready for next step. I have shot a hoyt buffalo and liked it also a widow shot well but not impressed. Looking at the predators and the hoyt. Fyi I have a 31 inch draw and would like to be around 60# @31. Tell me what you have loved and I can look up from there.

I love my Byron Ferguson Safari . You can get one 68" long and if you were to go with 55#@28" That should get you in the ball park of the draw weight you are after .

I was talking to Big Jim today ordering a bow from him and he was telling me about a bad to the bone recurve he just came out with. From his reputation alone, I would say its worth checking out. He has an ad at the top right of the page.

McDave

Bob Lee makes a number of nice recurves that you could get in a 64" length, that would be appropriate for your draw length.

Toelke Lynx, RER, Tall Tines recurves and  Shafer Silvertip bows are bowyer I would look at if I were buying a recurve.

Fastltz

Let me ask this as well. How do you feel about used bows? This will be my primary bow so should I go new or is used ok? I like a deal but I dont want spend money used just to have to buy new soon after.

I'm really impressed with a Vintage Works Kodiak replica that I have. You can get a 1959 Kodiak replica in 56" to 62". They are very fast and priced the same as the Gainsville product, but IMO subject to much higher quality control.

Cannot go wrong with a Zipper,Sivertip, and Talltines. Oh and Fedora as well. They all rock!!!!!!!!!!!

For $700, you won't go wrong with a predator, you can get one new for that price too. Don't get me wrong, the other bows mentioned are great, but you may have to wait on one to pop up, in the specs you want. I have a predator and since I've had it, I've whittled my collection down from 11 bows, to only 2 because the predator was the only bow I shot (and the other was a gift).

Sam McMichael

I like the traditional longbow, so I lean heavily toward Hill bows. Also, Northern Mist is worthy of strong consideration. A good used bow can be had for considerably less than the amount you mentioned and provide many years of great service.

Shop around as there are a lot of really nice bows out there. If you shop carefully, you just might be able to pick up 2 bows for around the $700 you mentioned. Happy bow hunting!
Sam
