Mark , Nice job. I'm so proud of you and your family. Self-bows are a true connections to the land. I remember a couple of those river bottoms from my trip to your area last winter. You are a generous guy with your time. Mike

Brings back memories of when I lived in Bozeman in the early 90's.  Had friends who lived in Livinston, I'd drive there weekly to shoot bows with them.  I'd tell them every time I came to visit that they lived in the most beautiful place on earth.  Thanks Mark

Thanks everyone for the kind words....almost as fun taking pics as it is shooting at animals anymore....

I am blessed to be able to share my season with my boys...and they are excellent ambassadors for trad bowhunting among their peers as well!

John...that bow was a hickory backed maple, around 64 inches and 70 lbs at my draw of 28 inches.   It was glued up as a modified pyramid style, perry reflexed.  I killed the cow in the late season - January - quite a few years ago when I was learning to build bows.   Didn't know it the glue would survive shooting in the cold.  It did, however, and the bow became quite a hunter for me, taking many critters.   Here is a pic....
