I have a Wes Wallace "Mentor" that Im getting an odd wood slap sound out of. If I set the brace height at about 6 3/4 to 7" I dont get it but the wierd thing is that Wes says that that bow is supposed to run at 7 1/2" brace height. At that brace height it is very prominant. Any ideas?

Check your knock point. Sounds like your getting some arrow slap at the higher brace heights.

You may be overspined.

Take talc, or baby powder and sprinkel on the arrow rest, blow the excess off and shoot at close range. If the arrow is hitting, it will show a mark. The feather may leave a streak, but you are looking for the shaft hitting, in front of the arrow rest, or shelf.

If it is a takedown, are the limbs moving? Don't over-tighten.

If your using a light string, try a heavier.

If an endless string (not flemish), there may be more noise.

If you get great arrow flight and it is quiet at the lower string height, run with it.
