Well sorta. Long story but I told the boss to shove it and I was going home to see my kiddos and wife. The wife had a job interview today and had to make it so I took my 4 and 2 year old out for a hike with our bows.
First stand I call in a big ol' fox squirrell and he holds up 25yd high and distant so my 4 year old and I let arrows go. Squirrel 1 , us 0.

Next set I call in another fox squirrel and this one is only about 20 feet up and 15 yds away but the shot is thru some branches but oh we'll , all I'm doing is stoking the fire in the kids at this point. All three of us shoot and now its squirrel 2, us 0.

Few more sets and no squirrels but did manage to call in some blue jays and a Cooper's hawk.

Last set we call in another fox squirrell and its a tree topper but we let em rip.
squirrell 3 , us 0.

We had a blast , lost a few arrows and enjoyed the woods. No it's not exactly te hunting I want to do in full rut but I love every chance I get to take the kids out.x

We have more Osage here than the law allows. I know you bowers love it but I dont like em taking over my whole property

The squirrels didnt win because you built a memory for your kids. Looks like a great time.

I believe those are the fruits of an Osage orange tree.

So those are fruits from an Osage tree? I can honestly say I have never come across an Osage tree in my life.

Brian,

Good on ya brother!!!!  Looks like a great day was spent with your children.  Nothing like being a dad eh buddy.

Man I am glad you got out today ...  Good thing you were not here in Wisconsin, we got about 2 inches of snow and it will get down to about 14 degrees tonight.  I am typing this next to my wood stove ...so nice and cozy.

Great pics, great story, great day my friend.

Thanks Bob.
Yeah the cold front just came in. They are calling for 70% chance of snow (nothing like you northerners get) and a high of 34 tomorow. Lucked out for sure

There's a market for those oranges.  People claim that they keep spiders out of your house.  Might just provide you some mad money to buy another bow for the house.

I've used the hedge apples for three years now, keeping the nine-spotted lady beetles out of the house. It's about 99% effective. I've put one or two in each south facing window. The bugs gather on the outside, but won't come in...
