Greetings All,

What's the best glue to use with carbons so inserts don't pull out?

Thanks in advance.

Happy hunting,

2 part epoxy. I think I have loctite brand now.

I like the low temp hot melt as well.  I use the Super 735 we stock, great stuff!  I like it for woodies too, it doesn't get brittle like some hot melts can.

I use Insert Iron, that I get from 3 Rivers. It takes a long time to set up, which I think keeps it somewhat pliable.  I shoot a lot, and the bonds occasionally fail, so every few weeks I put my arrow points in a vise and give the shaft a twist.  So far, I've been lucky and all the failures have occurred in the vise and not in the target.

The right preparation goes a long way. I always score the inside of the shaft with a bronze barrel brush and then use 91% alcohol to clean it. I also lightly sand and clean the insert. I've never had an insert pull loose after using epoxy or ferrule-tite cool flex.

I prep as the people above, and then use Gorilla Super glue, and have never had one come out.

I have used both the hot melt and different epoxys.  I've gone back to the soft melt since if I strick something hard when I miss (which happens often)  the insert comes loose and there usually no damage to the shaft.  With epoxy usually the opposite happens and I get a break in the end of the shaft.

I agree with Rock 'N Bow.  Preperation is key.  I have the same protocol as he does as far as prep.

X2 The Super 735 has been my favorite for a couple years now. Haven't had an issue since I switched.
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

Low temp hot melt.  Had great luck with it.
