Carbon collars and AD shafts fit loose?

I ordered some AD shafts and carbon collars to try out.  I have never used either before.  The collars seem to fit loose.  Is that to allow room for glue?  I assumed that  there would  be some sort of friction fit, but like I said I have not used them before.  I double checked my order and the bag they came in and they are labeled as the Correct ones for the AD shafts.  I am hoping to start tuning these shafts this afternoon, so any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Jonathan

Are your shaft black or wood grain?

The reason I ask is that the wood grain ones have a wrap on them that makes em' a little thicker.  3rivers makes the carbon collars for one size or the other possibly?

Yep they fit loose. On both woodgrain and black.   And that's the only size available even close to fitting.

Where did you order? Talk to Ted at Raptor and he can set you straight. I had ordered some for AD Trad lites, but got the ones for AD Hammerheads and they were loose, once I got the correct ones, they fit much better. Regardless, I was informed that if you use epoxy that the glue will fill in the gap and you are good to go.

I got the black shafts from 3 rivers.  I think the glue will fill he gap.
