After seeing Roger Norris's thread, "A gift from Teresa Asbell"

I talked to Teresa about her generous gift to Roger, then I told her how I loved old quilts. I told her a story of when I was a young lad and my Grandmother loaned me one of her quilts that she had made to take on an overnight camp out with a friend. It was early winter and we had a little snow on the ground. We had shot a couple grouse with our 22's and built a fire to roast them.

As night fell it turned pretty cold so we huddled close to the fire to keep warm wrapped in our blankets. It was a long night keeping the fire fed and some time during the night some cedar wood must have gotten put on the fire. Anyway the fire popped and snapped and threw sparks onto my grandma's quilt. The next morning the quilt looked liked it had been shot with a .50cal machine gun...            :scared:    To say grandma was upset is an understatment...

Anyway, this afternoon the UPS man dropped off a big box and low and behold, inside was a beautiful fleece backed wool blanket...  WOW!     :notworthy:

I had the honor of talking with Teresa about two weeks ago. I really miss seeing her and Fred after having the chance to spend a few days with them a few years ago. Teresa is truly one of a kind and Fred is a very lucky fella. I can't say enough about either of them. Teresa's generosity truly knows no bounds. Thank you Teresa and Fred for all you two do for the Traditional Community.

Awesome blanket!  Is it just me or does it look like that turkey is part of Ron's hat?

Very nice Ron. I have a big ol wool blanket I bought at the flea market for $5 that thing goes to every one of my boys soccer games rain or shine.

I would be lost without my gray wool army surplus blanket. Ron's certainly is a notch above that.

I think Dances with Wolves is a little off......

Perhaps we shall call you Dances with Turkey???
