Will you be in the woods on opening morning? Where will you be? Public or Private land? Tree or Ground? What will your set up be?
I will be on the ground, on public land, (Richardson WMA.) HH "Tembo" with hex pine shafts with HH broadheads.

I'll be out every day after work until the time change on private land in Ludlow, Hampden and Eathampton. Then it'll be just Saturdays

Man, I feel for you guys if your season is just opening. Ours has been open a month now.

I'll be in the tree stand early listening to the woods wake up (One of my favorite things). My Bama Hunter and tapered fir shafts tipped with Zwicky Eskimos at the ready. I'm located on private land that has never been posted. I talked with the owner many years ago and was told as long as the property is not abused he won't post.

Suppose to be a really nice morning weather wise!

Public land in Blackstone, Ma. I'll be in a tree Monday, overlooking a very small creek crossing that is smoking if the wind is right. If not, I have 2 back up areas in the same woodlot. Acorns all over the area.
Shooting either a Big Jim Buffalo longbow or my very special Schafer Silvertip recurve.
Depends how I shoot tomorrow. I fluctuate between these two bows all the time. Love 'em both.

I'll be behind the house in Plymouth, not sure if on the ground or in the climber,, I have off the following week to hunt Hanson bridgewater  and Plymouth mostly maybe Oakham, uxbridge, for the rut at some spots my father used to bring me when I was young,,, seeing many does everywhere we are loaded in Z11 with does..  

also don't forget Coyotes are open and Male or Female turkeys in zone 11 are legal with permit..

last season I had two huge toms that walked directly under the stand because I never knew they opened Z11 for fall birds.... once I heard they did its was too late..

Ted, not sure if you've been poking around Uxbridge yet but acorns are really good. I've been seeing a lot of deer along 16 through Mendon and Uxbridge. Most fawns Ive ever seen this summer.
I think we are going to have a really good season around here.

I'm in Colorado hunting mule deer and get back Thursday morning!! I'll be out Thursday afternoon in a  Sweet little spot that holds some big bucks! Can't wait. Good luck guys

Question for you MA guys... I am way out west but I have in-law types that live around Rockport MA - just north of Gloucester.  We visited a year ago and I noticed a pretty sizable piece of forest there called "Dog Town". Looks like it would be a good bow-hunting area for some locals.  Does anyone know if there is whitetail hunting in there?  

I don't really care as I will never hunt in MA but I am always curious about the places I visit... When we were there I was more interested in catching a Striper!  Didn't happen... maybe some other time.

David I haven't even looked around yet but I think that spot I told you about for turkeys a couple years ago in Uxbridge behind the storage place.  the deer run the edge of the Blackstone river there,,,,, not sure whats what in that area though.  a lot of Does I hear but this new tagging system leaves most people to believe there will be a lot more deer taking than reported because once the deer is home some people will just reprint the original deer tag and not report the kill..  

they should of made it so once purchased only one tag could be printed.

Jerry,,, I heard of Dog Town and heard the locals protect the place and hide signs and are beefing with the guys who use metal detectors in there.

the best place to call or e-mail and get the correct answer is the division of fisheries and wildlife the northeast district.   Mass is funny sometimes where you'll find property that is technically posted but we can hunt it anyway and the games wardens or police don't bother us, the signage is up for the riff raff and dumping.  I'll find out on another Mass forum though and Let you know.

Theres Not a ton of deer in that area but one could hunt if you wanted to. I am not sure specifically in Dogtown if you can hunt that specific property but the whole Gloucester Rockpot area in general.  

The fishing on the other hand..... Catching a 70 lb striped bass would be worth the strip  

and october and november is the perfect time to catch those big bass,, love to hit the vineyard for a day and try for big ole betsy..

Any guys in MA want to meet up before or after work to get a hunt in? I'm new to MA and don't have any spots, it would be good to meet some fellow MA Tradgangers.  I'm in Norfolk county. Good luck this season all.

Well, Monday afternoon I jumped 4 on my way in. Three of them were Does. The forth ran to my left and I didn't see it.

A doe came into my stand about 45 minutes before dark and milled around just outside of my comfort range till dark.
