I have a old ben person longbow, with no string. Its 45 lb, with no shelf on the bow. What type of string does it need? I know it need to match the length up to the bow, but idk what style to buy.

JRY309

I would use a B50 or B55 only. When I make up a string for one of my bows that came with no sting I'll measure the actual nock to nock length on the belly side and make the string 3" shorter. That is a good general rule to go by.

Shortlongbow

Id go for a 14 strand Flemish b50 measured as described above.

I have some b50 in black, brown, white, and green. I think I have red and green serving material. Measure your bow like JRY309 said above and send me a PM. I'll twist one up for you.
