I have thin gloves, thick gloves, and tabs and I've shot with varying degrees of mediocrity with occasional bouts of outright crappyness. Consistency just has never really been all that good.

Since all my bows are relatively light weight I thought what the heck and I picked up a set of those no-glove type finger savers. Actually I got the 3 under Hydro-Shot with the built in kisser at the top. Wow did my shooting improve! It was really dramatic.

Anybody else use these? Are they considered "traditional"?

I have a friend who puts duct tape on his serving.  I remember watching Roger Rothar talk about how he double serves and shoots with just fingers. I shoot a tab. Shoot what works for you.

I seem to misplace my tab a lot. I'm curious as well.

babs

Omp sells the finger saver I see they have one for 3 under with a kisser button. I might have to try one. Bowhunter superstore sells them

I can you a limited number of arrow with no glove before my fingers ache. But those first shot are great! I use a Damascus Glove, very thin, give me a good feel of the string. I like thinner rather then thicker when it comes to finger protection.

That appears to be the beauty of these things. I shot about 50 arrows with no more discomfort than with a thin glove.

nogloves for me, and have been shooting that way for 35yrs, they work fine, you just have to get used to the rolling off your fingers, 50# at 30"

I'm curious if you've tried a good quality glove?    I used to be a tab guy for awhile.  My way around it was using rag wool glomitts.  The good ones are gone.  Cabelas version is close.    Most now the weave is crappy loose.    They stop at your middle  knuckles and I'd put the glove on wearing the tab.  Pull the tab out, the finger piece would for the most part be wedged in the glove.  Worked well.

I've gone back to a glove.  Simply cut the 3 fingers off and go shoot.

I shot with those on my previous bow but my chubby fingers at the time caused the bottom of my ring finger to be nearly rubbed raw after shooting a few dozen times.(68# at 28") So I switched to a cheap glove, and now use fred eichlers 2 under 1 over tab. It works pretty great and once I'm done shooting I can just put an arrow through the finger loop in the quiver and I can't lose it

Speaking of ring fingers, using no gloves made me realize I don't even need to use my ring finger. I did at first and it felt cramped, especially with my short bows. Went to 2 under and it works great.

2 under? I'll have to try that sometime. I like the no glove and shooting only 2 finger would help a bunch with that finger pinch

I really like the American Leathers Big Shot Crossover . Gives me a good release and control of the string .
