What is the center cut on a Silvertip recurve? Also it is 57@30, drawn to 30.5", Dacron string. Suggestions for aluminum with 125 gr. point? I was thinking maybe 2117 31" long? Your thoughts? Thanks.

Biathlonman

Might need something a tad stiffer, but that will be close.

David, if you are having flight issues and if it doesn't have an elevated rest on it try a stick on rest and see what happens.

Haven't got it yet. Beth told me it was tillered to shoot off shelf. Should be here next week. Looking for a starting place. Got a hankering to go back to the good old days, Dacron and aluminum.

Dave Pagel

I would be shooting 2018s.  I have a few Silvertips and shoot off the shelf.  I can shoot 2018s with tips up to 175 grains in similar weights to yours.

Going "0ld School" on us, eh David!    Nice!  If you go with Dacron, try a 16 strand endless loop string, they seem to have the feel and performance somewhere between Dacron and ff.  Don't worry about being tillered off the shelf, if you decide to try a rest.

I shoot 2216 shafts from mine and mine is 51# @ 29".

David;

Kelly Petersen still has his spine charts active on the web, and for aluminum your setup shows a 2020 shaft.  Also if you're shooting Dacron try some of the new B55 in an endless loop string.  On my hunting recurves I normally shoot flemish B50 because I value a quiet shooting rig above all other features.  I had Mike Steliga of Bruin Bows make some B55 endless loop strings for me and found I had to move up to the same spine arrows I use for my FF strings.  Speed is also very close.  Only diff is the B55 is so much quieter than FF. I went with Mike just because he's close, but Chad from LBR offers these also.

Thanks, but does anyone know how the riser is cut?

Bjorn

Mine is 1/8 past-it is a 2010 model no idea if older bows are cut the same.

Thanks. Mine is a 2013 model. Can't find the info on Dave's site.

SERGIO VENNERI

Silvertips were once cut to 3/16ths past center, not aware that that had changed?  :dunno:

Al Dean

I'd think 2216s would work nicely.

Simple answer is just ask Both...she knows their bows

I have. Waiting on an e-mail answer. Got a response earlier from Her saying 2117 maybe 2216. She wanted to ask Dave and He wasn't there.
