I recently acquired a 1963 Howatt Diablo that I just can't seem to put down. Not only is it in excellent condition but the grip fits me to a tee and it shoots great to boot. Much to the dismay of my other bows it is my "go to" bow this season.
Anyone else hunting with a vintage bow this year.

Not all the time ,but I have a 1967 Kodiak Hunter that I take for a hunt at least one time every year. It's 58" 43# @ 28" and almost silent. Real nice to carry.......

Canebrake and Groves will see some time in the woods....

I've been hunting with old Bear recurves since I was a kid. In spite of having a few Hybrid Longbows, they have seen very little time in the woods. I've been using a 1967 Bear Grizzly since 2007 and last year my son Tyler used his brother's old 1969 Grizzly.

This year, I found Tyler & I a pair of matching 50# 1972 Grizzlys.

We'll probly be using them untill.....      

I'll be doing my best to kill my first trad deer this year with a 1970 bear grizzly.  48# @ 28.

I am hunting with an older Damon Howatt Hunter i picked up at a pawn shop for $130.00, in great shape and shoots wonderfully.

I'll be using my 1963 Howatt Hi-Speed I purchased at a local restaurant this winter. I shot my first turkey with it on Sept. 23. This bow shoots as good as or better than any bow I have owned.

I am currently hunting with one of my 1960 Kodiak...people often worry about shooting old bows with stress lines and limb twist...this bow has some limb twist I cannot massage out and some major stressing...it also has a couple of cracks in the riser that I repaired with Loctite 420...it is fast and smooth and I shoot it well and with a bit of luck I should have shot a mule deer doe with it by Monday

I'm starting the season with a 1960 Grizz and fir arrows with '59 Razorheads in a tape on leather top quiver.  I'll try to get some pics of the setup this weekend.

I just got into trad and I'm shooting a 72 kodiak hunter 53#@28" and I love it. It super quiet and I killed my first trad deer the other day with it so it's near and dear to me now.

My 43# '69 Kodiak Hunter goes with me on every hunt although when I get my '70 Super K re-finished I'll have to try it out.

I have several bows but I always seem to take my 62 camo Kodiak magnum 52lbs it just seems right don't ask me why

  Fred you make me "Sick"    Do you  know how much sleep I have lost cause of that Damon Howatt you got? I have been trying my best to get one and just cann't close the deal on one...When you post pics of all those pretty bows I get myself in trouble...  

I am hunting with a Wilson Bros H303 this year.  This is really one that should be stored away because of it's rarity, however, if it flings a great arrow, it's gonna fling one with a broadhead.  LF

I think I was bitten by the same bug not long after buying a second hand Black Widow. Then it seemed like I was always running into people saying " I've got this old bow..." Three 70's era Bears and two Brownings later I'm still not cured. I just make sure to stay off the classifieds. TonyZ.

Those classifieds are trouble....LOL   Because of them I also have a 70's  Bear Kodiak T/D, a 66 Kodiak and a 59 Repro from Big River.
