Technically plaid is a camo pattern if you're using it to help break up your outline. It may not be sold as such, but it's the same idea.

ASAT and Predator are the only commercial patterns that I would use anymore. I have an ASAT leafy suit, works just fine. It doesn't look as cool as a plaid shirt/jacket and a borsalino, but it does the job.Plus (along with the benefits already described by PastorSteveHill)it cost about the same as a good wool shirt. jmho
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Goodbye Shiner you were always a good dog.

Military pattern camo works just fine, is readily available and relatively cheap.

Yea but you get wierd looks when you stop at the bank, restaurant, gas station on the way home wearing that stuff. With plaid you can just walk right in and no body gives the "Robins eye" and a wide berth.   ;)
There is always someone that knows more than you, and someone that knows less than you, so you can always learn and you can always teach

I went hunting the other day and my friends wife thought I came straight from work.  I was wearing brown kakhis and a brown and white plaid shirt.   :archer:

Ferret, that's true I have received a few looks and chuckles from people, but I wear regular clothes underneath and shuck the outer suit before going amongst the general population.      :goldtooth:

Leafy Suit for me also ,I try to hunt low in the stand ( around 8 to 12 feet ) so I try to place my stands in brushy cover . The leafy suit really helps me blend in , give it a try .

I have good luck with the military basic camo too. Cheap easy to find like longrifleman says.
I have took deer wearing plain green military wool, (Inexpensive too) and plaid flannel shirts.
But one of my friends just did buy a new hunting suit that is a 700 dollar noise maker. I do like the predator camo and ASAT. pretty nice. People have been taking wild game for thousands of years without anything fancy. What ever works for the application. Have fun this season. Hunt well.
