Fortune has smiled and brought me a used Toelke Classic Whip. Wonderful bow. Out of respect for these craftsmen I'd like to be saying their name correctly. Can somebody help me on that? Thanks!

Toll-Key is my understanding on the pronunciation.

Toll-key is a good way to spell it. Although I might spell it phonetically as "Tolki"...its a little more "i" then "ey" and not too drawn out. You could always call Dan and ask him!

After many years living in Germany and speaking German fairly fluently, I know how I would pronounce it. That might not be the way Dan pronounces it and it's his name.

I'd call him, tell him you picked up one of his Whips and how much you like it. Then just ask him how he pronounces his name. Seems like the simplest and most accurate way to do it.

I'm German myself.

This is how it should be spelled:  Tölke

Just like my last name Droessler should be Drößler.

"Toll-kay" is about as close as most Americans will get pronouncing it acceptably.

I agree, Dan may do it a certain way, its HIS name after all.

You betcha. I bought a used Lynx as a spare for another Lynx I have. It came with a handle that was a little too slim for me to get used to.  I sent in the handle I liked and the too slim handle to Dan, with instructions to match the handle I liked and give me what he could on the other handle. I resigned myself to shooting other bows for 6 months or so.  3 weeks later I had my new handle and an offer for $25 more than I thought was fair for the old one, so I asked Dan if he would just send me $25 less than he offered on the too slim one and we would be fine.

Compare with another top of the line bowyer. Some limbs were for sale that I wanted, so I called and asked the bowyer how long it would take for him to build me a riser?  2 years. At my age, I'm wondering if I should even buy any green bananas, let alone wait two years for a riser!  Had to pass on those....

I'm a local, and I've always heard it Taoull Kee.  I've known Dan clear back to my early 20's when he was still selling guns at Ronan Sports and Western.

He's a well grounded average guy, with a laid back demeanor.  He handles life well.

OK, so I'll just run "Taoull Kee" through my old south Texas drawl and hope for the best! :-)
