Tater, thank you again for the suggestion on buying the trek poles.  I was taking Advil every day anyway for my knee and they really made the trip out much less painless.

Great pics of you and your son. My son is a big help, too. Very satisfying.

That's great right there.  I would love it, if my sons had it in them to hunt with their father. Your a lucky man!

Thanks for the story.  Elk hunting is a humbling pursuit on a number of levels.  Problem is, you're no more than out of the mountains and you're planning for the next hunt.....AFTER you've sworn you make a better trout fisherman than an elk hunter!!!

Glad you made some memories with your son.

Hi Gary,
That picture says it all. Glad you guys had the time together AND to see a bull wallowing! Very cool.
Next time I hope you can customize one of those arrows with some red.

I'm stuck in MO, so I love the elk stories.  Thanks so much for sharing.

Homebru,
After reading your comments, I recalled Matt joking that maybe we should try fly fishing.  Ain't going to happen  of course.

I asked Shedrock once how he got all those nice animals and he replied " I never give up".  So that is what we are committed  to- never giving up. It almost happened this year, maybe next year.  I am so fortunate to have a wife who loves seeing her husband and her son spending quality time together. I am a very blessed man.

My friend, you've been up more days than me so far.  While you were fighting the rain, I was fighting the floods.  Hope to get up soon!  Good stuff and thanks for sharing.  God bless and good huntin'
