Ok i already have Lonewolf sticks and have used them for along time but I really don't like them and I think they are not the easiest for youth hunters to use. I also use Lonewolf stands.

What I don't like is hanging each individual stick but I do know that sometimes the individual stick is the way to go so not sure if I want to stay that way or go with a 2 or 3 piece that I clip together then stand up against tree??
Also not fond of the small, pointed steps on the Lonewolf sticks.

Most of my set-ups are only 10'-12' off the ground.

any suggestions on ones to try?

No experience with anything other than individual sticks but if you decide to stay that route, the Ameristep (formerly Non-Typical) Rapid Rails are a great alternative.  They don't have the individual peg steps like the Lone Wolf sticks. I use both and the Rapid Rails would definately be my choice for a youth hunter.

Gearguide has a set of 3 sticks for $30 with free shipping if ya do a search For coupon code. A little heavy but easy to climb and For The money I bought 8 sets. Great buy and as easy or easier than LW ones. I would not pack them In but if yoy are gonna leave them up, they are The best I found! SHAWN

I have a set of Rapid Rails that are pretty easy to set up and climb. The set of 3 will get you around 13' unless you are tall and like long steps between sections. I got them and a stand last year in a combo for $50 but haven't seen that deal since.

I like those ones Shawn & awbowman mentioned too.

Rapid Rails are the best. fairly light. doesn't matter how straight the tree is. get two sets and you can combine them to get higher than 15' if you want. Game Winner is the Academy Sports brand and they're not too pricey.

Do a search on Muddy or Leverage sticks.

I've had success with Summit Buck Steps.  They have a large step that's easy to use with muck boots on, they aren't terribly heavy and they nest together to make packing them in easier.  The down side is you have to set up each step.  I've never used Lone Wolf steps but after seeing them I would think the Summits would be easier to set up.  Just my .02.

I have the Lone Wolf sticks and the  Rapid Rails and I much prefer the Rapid Rails. They weight just about the same so that isn't an issue. The rapid rails are slightly more bulky, but I think they go up much easier. I just bought several sets of the guide gear sticks Shawn was talking about and they seems ok. I have not put them up yet, but am planning on using them for stands I am not moving much.

If you don't like the LW look at the Rapid Rails or Summit Buck Steps.

I've used many types of sticks. My favorite are Rapid Rails -- either the Steel or Aluminum versions.

I just bought a single Lone Wolf Stick (the only one Sportsman's Warehouse had) and am looking forward to using it.

The rails are sure  hard to beat though!  I have spray painted some old ladders and used them as well. They don't get me high enough without some additional screw-ins or a rail or two though. The ladder is also noisier (hollow alum. tubing) when climbing than made-for-bow hunting steps, sticks, and rails though.
