Lets see some new ones.  I know there have many made since this thread started.  I have a one pc started right now.  Riser is glued up.

Dave Pagel

Mine should be due around mid May.  LH one-piece.  Can't wait.

Danny, Felix, myself, and WRV have TDs due in June at the same time.

I also have a riser on order for 2 sets of limbs for it due in the fall.

Whats your one pc gonna look like, Dave?  Specs?

meathead

I have a 15 inch riser coming for a extra set of limbs I have. It should be done in a couple months. I should get to turkey hunt with it this spring.

Wow! I love this thread.. Mine is due in June. Walnut Riser with Russian Olive Limb Veneers and elk antler tips. Checkered grip.. Still up in the air on medium or low grip. It will be my first Silvertip.

maxwell

Roy, beautiful bow,  your specs are exactly like mine.  Very nice.

Do yourself a favor and spring on one. They're everything you've ever heard they are and then some. This is my solid bocote riser. Working on getting another set of limbs skinned.

Keith,

My bow will a 60 inch FF model, charcoal dymondwood riser with a zebra accent and a checkered grip, zebra limb laminations.  It will compliment all of the TDs I have in the stable.

I just got this one back yesterday. Looked for a long time to find one in my draw weight with the camo limbs. It had a little road rash and the grip was too high for my liking. Had it totally refinished and added some "bling" to make it my own. Reshaped grip and checkered, sheep horn tips and riser overlay, antler knobs, matching wood limb base overlays, filled bushing holes and removed name. It's like new! You definitely can't go wrong dealing with the Windauers'.

nomansland, After reading this thread I decided to check out The Schafer website since I hadn't been there in awhile. They redid it and if you click on product line then take-down recurve and scroll down there are dozens of pics of different wood combo's that will keep you busy for quite some time deciding which to get.
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Gorgeous bows gentlemen   ;)   I remember at one time there was a book being written about Mr Schafer did it ever get published? Would really like to read it as I always enjoyed hearing about his exploits and admired him a lot.

Ken, does your Tip have rattler skins on both face and belly of limbs?
Schafer Silvertip; Mahaska longbow; Highwood Hunter; Bear Super Kodiak and way too many others

Keith Zimmerman

Sounds nice Dave.  Will it be a 15 or 17 in riser?

I was wondering the same thing about the book. Does anyone know if there has been a book written about Paul Schafer?

kat

Harleywriter- The back is skinned, and the belly has curly maple veneers.

If you want to have some fun; let a buddy shoot one of your Silvertips, and see how long it takes before he gets one.    :biglaugh:
