Does anyone know of any good books or DVDs on Kyudo. I am not so interested in the Zen concepts(no offense to anyone who is) but find the use of the bow by the Samurai fascinating. Most of the books I have read want to talk only about Zen or only about modern Kyudo technique. Also the books on the Samurai I have read only touch on Archery in passing. I guess I am looking for a history of Japanese martial Archery. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brian

"instinctive archery" is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

Does anyone hunt with this kind of bows or are they only good for ceremonial archery?
