I will be using 2013 aluminum this year.  I don't see them mentioned very often.  Anybody else use them for hunting?

The 2013's I use to shoot were very light and hada big diameter. When i shot aluminum I use to hunt with 2016's instead. Now I hunt with carbons that are front loaded and get much better penetration.

I have some 2013,s that are 28.5 in long w/ a 145 gr tip they weigh 456 grains. Fly well out of a 46# and a 51# bow. Choose your own weapon, but most archers like to see a 500 grain or heavier arrow shooting at deer. I use them for squirrels and turkey hunting. Just a opinion, Roy

I used to hunt with those, 2114, and 2018's.  They were great as long as they were straight.    

I very much like 2013's for targets but agree they are on the light side for big game.  Not that they wouldn't work with a good hit, but still on the light side.  There are better choices.  

Ever try 1916's?  Similar in spine as 2013's but heavier and stronger.  1918's are also good but are getting hard to find now.  2016's seem to shoot off almost any bow in the 45-50# range.  

You didn't mention your bow weight (or what game you will be hunting), but these options may be worth trying.  Good luck.

1918's may be hard to find, but I still have three dozen I'm trying to sell.  Call the shop if you are interested.

As for 2013's I think another factor is availability.  The Easton Legacy's do not come in 2013 so you have to go to another model of aluminum.  Your favorite supplier might not carry them.  I also agree with the "kinda light" sentiments raised above.
