When in a treestand do you shoot from the seat, stand up, or stay standing most of the time.

I sit during the "slower part of the day" but stand during prime time. I prefer to shoot from a standing position.
Standing is especially important for me as I need to be able to adjust....its a rare day the deer do exactly what I expected them to. More times than not they come from the wrong direction and are drawn to the wrong side of the tree

Car54

Sit pretty much the whole time.  Except when I need to stretch and my rearend needs a break.

Gen273

I like to sit, I also prefer to stay seated and shoot if I can.

ISP 5353

I sit more than I stand, but try to be standing when deer are close.  I prefer to shoot standing.

KentuckyTJ

I always try to stand up when deer are coming. Many more shot opportunities that way.

I stand as much as I can with feet out a little leaning my back into the tree.  I set just for breaks.

I stand as much as possible, only sitting down if my back gets too sore.  Standing keeps me a lot warmer and my visibility is much better.  I don't have to worry about getting caught sitting when deer are around either.

RedShaft

I mostly stand. But I had deer come at angle and I stayed seated for the shot but it needs to be that off the left 45 deg angle or it don't work very well.

Stumpknocker

Stand during prime time. Sit a little for rest but try to avoid it.  So much more mobility standing.

I sit until I see deer......so I stand as soon as I see them.....even if they are 300 yrds away.  I do this from experience.....as Ive waited before only to get trapped so I couldnt afford to move at all.   If you got eyes on,  you want to be standing.....just my approach  :campfire:

VictoryHunter

I stand as much as I can "stand". It always pays off to be ready and move as little as possible.

I sit most of the time and stand when deer are approaching but I have shot a few deer while sitting if they catch me off guard. In these thick woods, you can generally always hear them coming before you see them so that's when I'll stand up.

I sit. I am just not comfortable or well balanced standing up.

I sit and prefer shooting from the sitting position.  No problems maneuvering for a shot.  Sitting, my legs might move abound a bit, i.e., shake, but at least shaky legs won't cause my entire body to shake.  Sitting is a much more solid platform, IMO, but whatever floats your boat.

Shawn Leonard

I sit and prefer shooting from a sitting position. I rarely have problems getting off my shots when sitting. If I have too I stand if a deer is coming in behind me or from an unexpected direction. Shawn

My last 3 or 4 deer were shot from sitting position but prefer to shoot standing up. It is more a matter of whether I can get up without being seen and where they are coming in from relative to the stand.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Deeter

I will sit when i get out in the stand in the mornin right before the sun comes up.  But when the sun comes up and i can see clearly to shoot i stand up for game time.

I like to sit most of the time, I can sit still better than stand still. But, I prefer to stand while shooting. I shoot better standing.
