Got drawn today for the camp croft archery only hunt here in SC for October! Any other archers from here in or out of state going to be there? I've hunted the park before and there is some good hunting there.

Congrats! I hear good things.

MCNSC

Congrats. I hunted there a few years back. There were lots of deer. Saw a few but none presented shots.
Good luck...

I've hunted it twice in years past.  I killed a pretty decent 7-pointer the first year.  The biologist aged him at 4 1/2.  It's a cool place but I noticed this year they're allowing some 4-wheeler permits.  The fact there were no 4-wheelers running around before is one of the things that appealed to me most.  I ain't skeered to walk a bit.  I'm not necessarily anti 4-wheeler.  I have no problem with people who have some kind of a handicap using them but, you know folks will abuse the privilege.  Heck, I saw it first hand.  A guy with a legitimate handicap permit was carrying all his buddies around to and fro.  That ain't what it's for in my opinion.  Personally, I think the 4-wheelers will take away from the experience.  It'll be interesting to see how the deer react.  The deer there aren't exposed to them all year long.  Now they will be  for those few hunt days.

Do they still restrict the hunts to dates during the week, Monday through Thursday?

Yeah, all of the hunts are wed-thurs. I'm with you on the 4wheelers. I'm curious how they'll affect the deer. I'm going to try hard to get off the beaten path and maybe find a spot tough to get a quad (hoping anyway). But either way I'm gonna camp out and enjoy the trip.

Good luck!  I know you'll have a good time.  Some of the prettiest stands of white oaks I've ever seen are there.

I don't think the ATV idea is a good one. Maybe if they were only allowed to be used to retrieve downed deer it would be OK.
