Same here.  When cold weather hits an  I have bulkey clothing I just use the team realtree sleeve.  Works for me.  Good luck.

From the moment  I bought an arm guard of Scott Teaschner, I wear it all the time! I don't need it really, only for bulky clothes it is ok.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

I just built my first self bow just a board bow but now that I'm shooting it I'm smoking my arm never have really before haven't shot a whole lot of trad but is that a design flaw or a form error?

A lot depends on the bow's grip shape for me.  If I'm shooting a bow with a high wrist grip I generally can go without.  For bows with low wrist grips sooner or later I'm going to slap the hell out of my arm.  It's easier to wear one than deal with a massive welt, so I just wear it.

VictoryHunter

I rarely get a string slap but the main reason I use one is to keep clothing out of the path of my string.

I always wear the top of an old hunting sock to keep my sleeves out of the way.  But with my new selfbow I have been tagging my arm regularly.  I will be making a better one for use with it this fall.  I need to figure out what to do for my new ghillie sleeve.

The only time I wear an armguard is when I hunt. I wear long sleeves and do not want the string catching a sleeve. I never hit my arm with no sleeves on.
