I always go to office depot where they pull up online and compare prices for ups and usps. The prices can vary from 12$ to 80$.....

I just shipped a longbow today from Missouri to North Dakota. I ship mine in a 3" lighweight pvc tube slid inside a cardboard box so it can't roll. Shipping priority mail, $400 insurance was $24 at USPS. You guys had me worried about prices going way up but that's pretty close to last one I shipped.

I just shipped one Tues.  Went to two post offices and got two different prices with the same PVC tube packing.  The first was 37 w/o the extra insurance, the second was 22 with the insurance,go figure....

If you insure it don't get delivery confirmation. They have to sign for it if it's insured, so why pay for the confirmation, you will know when they sign because it's insured. Delivery Confirmation is free if you do it on line.

Since the first of the year the .75 tracking fee went away. It is included .
I use either 3 inch PVC or cardboard shipping, tubes. Either cost me about $7. The usps rates have actually dropped since jan. 1. For long bows usually from $18 to$ 23 depending on direction.
Solobowhunter have found the same thing some people don't know how to measure. My smaller P.O. Is the best.

This past week I shipped an Omega longbow from NC to Florida in one of the cardboard tubes from a carpet store, it was really some stout stuff. USPS charged me $33.25 Priority Insured for $200 and promptly broke the tube in half en route. Luckily, and I don't know how, the bow was undamaged....
If you find yourself in a fair fight? Your tactics suck!

I've bought a couple of bows from Jack and made a couple of these boxes. They work very well!
