Bow quiver marks: question

Folks,

I own an EFA quiver that I bought for my DAS Dalaa, which I have since sold. I did notice during my ownership of that bow that the finish chipped a bit when I installed the bow quiver. Honestly, the finish on the bow wasn't very good. I don't think it was the EFA's issue

That being said, I want to install the quive on my Big Jim and Toelke, but want to see if there are any clearances, or other things I should be aware of so as to not mar the finish of these fine bows. I notice that the velcro straps are oriented with the hard part of the velcro toward the bow...would this mar the finish.

Any tips or tricks would be much appreciated. I know this may be a bit OCD for a hunting bow, but curiousity killed the cat . Ha! Thanks!

I've used two different EFAs on my Whips and there has never been an issue.

Great. Thanks. Anyone have an EFA and a Big Jim???

Lets see, I have about 5 of these (EFA) of various models and have never experienced any issues on any of my Recurves or Long bows.

Enough said?

A great testament. Thanks!!!

I used a Kanati flat quiver on one of my takedowns and the rubber coated steel bar of the quiver indented my limbs, both top and bottom limbs. I do not think it was the quiver's fault. I think the finish on the bow was a bit soft/weak. The same bow's finish was softened by my use of bug spray. I put some on my hands and wiped down my ears and neck. A while later I handled the bow and it softened up the finish quite alot at the grip. I then used a leather wrap around the handle and problem was solved. I now am more of a back quiver hunter. Same Kanati qiver on other bows has not been an issue. My EFA has NEVER been an issue on any bow.

You'll be fine putting that quiver on the BigJim. I use an epoxy finish and it can take a beating....not that the quiver would do that as they are well made and shouldn't cause a problem anyway.

Been using the EFAs for quite a few years on several different bows, never a problem. My favorite bow quiver hands down.

On an earlier thread several folks commented that bug spray with DEET will eat up a bow finish.

I found out the "almost" hard way. It softened the finish on mine but I caught it quickly with no ill effects. The leather solved it. Love the EFA quivers but have never tried the Big Jim's. Maybe one day but these back quivers have kinda spoiled me.

Here is an EFA on my Thunderchild

No problems at all.

Bassbow, these quivers were made for bows like Big Jim's. A number of guys have put EFA quivers on these bows and I've never heard anything but good results about either the bow or quiver.

BassBow

Thanks! I appreciate both you and Jim chiming in.
