Found this foot pound calculator online, just thought I might share. Easton does the work for you, nice! My setup is producing 79 ft. # of energy, enough to take down a Buffalo. Sweet, don't have anything around here bigger than a whitetail so I guess I'm "over gunned" as far as my bow and arrow are concerned? I'd rather be packing too much heat rather than not enough, cause a complete pass through is all I'm gonna get, it just don't get any better than that.

Thanks SEMO.  I bookmarked that.  Out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, how are you making 79 ft. #?  I shoot 700 grain wood arrows out of an 80# longbow, looks like I'd have to shoot better than 225'/sec to make 79 ft. #s.  Your bow must be scary fast.

That is some serious numbers..

Im shooting a 57@28 Kohannah Hunter

600gr Carbons

10 Strand String with wool silencers

traveling at 190fps and beyond silent.. :)

and producing 48.11

Cant wait until Sept 7th..

That's pretty cool. Not sure how accurate the "game guide " portion of that is tho.  But I sure like the calculator.  Thanks for that

I would be interested to know the setup that produced 79# KE also. You would have to have a 1250gr arrow at 170fps to get that high.

And the "Game Guide" is a joke! My setup only produces 35 ft/lbs KE and It is a killing machine. No, I would not hunt Cape Buffalo or Asian Buffalo, but would not hesitate to hunt elk, moose, or bear with it. I have shot a 700#kudu with it.

According to that, a  800 grain arrow at 200 fps will be at 71 ft pds.

I would love to see the bow that can shoot an 800gr arrow at 200fps!

pretty cool says im getting 37.46 ft#...setup is a 476 gr easton poweflight 400 at 29.75" shooting a muzzy phantom 100gr for a total weight of 576 gr. outta a 55# recurve shooting roughly 171-170 fps...i think the calculator is cool but not the game choice...in my setup i have over 10gr/lbs. and completely comfortable shooting at--er i mean hunting--elk, deer and bear also. just have to do my part and hit it where it counts  ;)
