Hi, gang!
a few weeks ago, i had the opportunity to try out a traditional longbow from great northern
what a surprise!
this bow is really SMOOTH!
seem to be a great shooter!
do anybody  have one here?
and what do you think about it? would it be a great alternative to Hill bows?

Don't have one but I would take a GN over a HH anytime

I have a GN Traditional longbow which is 68" long and marked 63#@ 28", or it could be 61# as it's been a while since I strung it up. It has a paduak riser which is red with black streaks and osage lams. It's one of the prettiest GN bows I've ever seen. It's a very stable, smooth shooting bow and more fun than should be legal. I have so many bows that I don't get a chance to shoot this one very often. If you get one, you'll love the craftsmanship of the GN guys. Their fit and finish is superior.

I don't have the Traditional bow but have a Fireball and love it. People think they are not as fast and stable as other longbows but they're wroong. PLUS (that's a BIG plus) jerry Brumm is a fantastic fella and lifelong bowhunter.

i owned a fireball, that was a great shooter!!!!!
but was too heavy for me, 66lbs although i was able to shoot 76lbs with my martin hunter with a geater accuracy.......
what please me in the tra longbow is the shape, th legend that goes with, and i somewhere think that a not very fast bow is probably better for accuracy.....
i owned a psa black widow, heavy, smooth a lot, and very fast......today, i'm looking just for a more traditional weapon, i think that fps are not all for hunting, and i would prove to myself that i'm capable to shoot and hunt with a longbow!
i love the D shape when strung, and i wanted to buy a bushbow, but i never had the opportunityto try one, and it's probably not as smooth to raw as th traditional, due to it's length....
for foxbo: could you send me a few pics of your bow, please? the bow i tried was one of the ancient models, with very trapezoid limbs and the straight grip.....
i saw on the GN website that the model evolved, now with rounded grip, or rounded/locator grip...
and the limbs seems to be different......perhaps it's due to the photos, maybe not....
thanks
Fred
