Gary, those arrows are gorgeous. Karen just saw them today and she really likes them. I have done a little bit of feather splicing and creative cresting in the past, so I can appreciate the time and skill that goes into it. Probably if I'd had the same results I'd still be making arrows. Hah.

It's a pleasure working with you Gary, and to be associated with you. You have been easy to work with and your products speak for themselves. Karen and I are in agreement there.

D&M Arrows and Eagles Flight Archery........Awesome!  Don, Karen and Gary are great folks to deal with and I'm proud to have them as friends too.  I shot very well tonight at EFA using some of Gary's  fine looking arrows.  Too bad for Don I was on the other team tonight. Always a good time on Tuesdays!

Gary,

Beautiful work!  Do you prefer cutting the quills to splice rather than stripping the feathers.  I thought it looked that way from coloring of the bases.

I've done both.  I like cutting the quills better, but I think my stripped one may have looked nicer.

You've developed your art VERY well.  Congrats!

I have done splicing a few different way but find that cutting the quills and using a sharpie to color in the white bases looks far better. The other way I have made splicing is by layering the quills together by stripping only a very small portion of the feather off the glueing the quills together. Then taking a small finger nail file and sanding them flush. That looks the best but takes a long time to do. And If I did that my prices would go up big time. And for strength I did not feel that they were any better.

Hope that helps and thank you for the kind words
Gary D Hall
